Toddler Book Review: Ada Twist, Scientist

“a book is the dream that you hold in your hand”

Lucy gives it 3 squeals!

Ada Twist has a heartfelt message and amazingly beautiful illustrations! The caterer for Lucy's baby shower, Collyer Catering, has been following along on Lucy's journey and sent her this thoughtful gift. How amazing is that? I absolutely adore the wedding community in Connecticut.  I seriously couldn't love this book more if I tried and I think Lucy will only grow to love it more and more. Right now, we read it and stop on each page to look at all of the beautiful illustrations. There are so many little things to talk about, like Ada's toys, the myriad of perfume bottles, and the drawings Ada does when she's thinking. We have begun to talk about What, Where, When, and How. We talk about what it means to be curious and what it means to have big dreams.

Ada Twist, Scientist, is a book about being yourself, it's a book about acceptance, it's a book about perseverance, and it's a book about imagination.

In addition to the book being the perfect read for Lucy, it was fortuitous that it arrived this week because Lucy did an experiment on Sunday. She wanted to make a doll sit up and needed something to help prop her. She tried item after item after item to see if it would work and didn't give up (I chattered away about what might work and what didn't). As a past kindergarten teacher that used to do the scientific method with her kiddos, this made me so proud. I can't wait to continue doing little experiments as she grows and reads Ada Twist, Scientist over and over and over again!

I hope you love the book as much as we do! The link above is an affiliate link. Any compensation from the link goes right into Lucy's warrior fund to help us, help her, battle Retinoblastoma! You can follow along on her journey using her hashtag, #lucythewarrior on facebook and instagram. xoxo
