Some weeks, I don't have much to say by way of introduction. Last week, I shared some difficult news, and how we are heartbroken but hopeful. I think, sometimes, what is even harder to put into words, is the time in between. The time in between Lucy's appointments when life is totally normal and totally not normal at the same time. When we are living our day to day life, booking sessions, playing with Lucy, grocery shopping, but there's worry. Always worry about our precious baby girl. So I guess, this is our normal. Our new, new, normal. Different from the previous normal we got used to during her last treatment regime. It's odd how normal it all looks when I see the images I captured. I kind of like it. I like how normal it all looks even though it feels anything but normal. I guess, I did have something to say for an introduction after all.
Day 14: We woke up in New Jersey at my parents' house after Lucy's treatment at Jefferson Memorial the previous Friday. It's so wonderful that they live close enough to Lucy's doctors that most of the time, we don't have to stay in hotels and can stay with them instead. Lucy adores it there. My aunt brought her a stuffed elf that my grandad gave my grandmom over ten years ago and she LOVES him.
Day 15: Excuse me, mom, can you keep it down? I'm on an important phone call.
Day 16: My parent's gave Lucy Bug the loveliest Christmas present. Lucy's stars dance and twinkle around her and it's magical. (artwork by de Ann)
Day 17: New bath time fun! These jellies by Boon float and bob just like the real thing. We love them!
Day 18: Not bad for a first try!
Day 19: Reminiscing about the days she would sit still for a picture. :)
Day 20: Saturday was warmer than it has been in ages so we took a hike. It was nice to get some fresh air and spend time in the quiet woods.
