I was out of the office this week. I blogged a family session last Monday and answered emails, but for the most part, this was a designated Lucy week. If you emailed me, you probably received a response at an odd time. 10:30pm on Friday, maybe? Midnight on Tuesday? 5:30am on Thursday, perhaps? In case you haven't heard, our daughter is an absolute rockstar. Lucy is a retinoblastoma warrior and a warrior she truly is. A beautiful soul with an effervescent personality who is rarely seen without a smile. This week was a tough one, but our little warrior is tougher.
Day 116: The swing is pretty much her favorite thing in the history of ever (this week).
Day 117: Reading with Gramby and another ride on the swing. The perfect day.
Day 118: A visit to Philadelphia for an MRI. Before, waiting for the results, and after. We got two thumbs up from her onco but needed to stay in Philly for another appointment the following morning. Her quiet strength is as beautiful as her radiant smile.
Day 120: The day of her eye exam under anasthesia. Here's before, in recovery, and at home- she always looks like she went ten rounds with Mike Tyson afterward, but mangaes to smile anyway.
Day 121: A beautiful morning for a swing ride.
Day 121 Part two: Lucy's first grilled cheese.
I think she liked it.
Day 122: Lucy and Gramby watched as a tree got cut down next door.
My favorite part of this moment- her little hand holding on so tight.
Day 122 Part 2: We took a trip to see the pink flowers by the lake. Lucy spent the afternoon collecting the fallen flowers on a park bench and then giving them to Grandpa and Uncle Evan.
He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me...
Day 122 Part 3: Let her sleep for when she wakes, she will move mountains. Sleep tight little warrior.
See you next week!
