35 Project: Week 29

“Sometimes the strength within you is not a big fiery flame for all to see it is just a tiny spark that whispers ever so softly, you got this, keep going.”

Sometimes, rarely, I have no words. When words fail me, my camera never does. I've been documenting Lucy's journey since the day she was diagnosed so that maybe one day, I can find the right words to go with the pictures. In the meantime, I share tidbits here and there, on instagram, on facebook, and in my 365. Many people have told me that my business blog is not the right place to share these tidbits. But I disagree. After all, my clients trust me with their stories, with the intimate details of their lives, the least I can do, is follow suit. After all, our hearts shape the way we tell stories, shape the way we see the world and I share a little piece of my heart with every single couple who walks through my door.

Day 191: Pretty lantana growing in the garden and a girl who loves her dollar store lei

Sleepy, sleepy Lucy.

Day 192: It was a GREAT day to play outside. We fished in the pool and then splashed in the sprinkler for the first time.

Day 193: An early morning trip to CHOP for a blood draw. Lucy knows how to make herself at home.

Lucy's bloodwork came back ok and we got to go home! YAY! So we played and played all afternoon.

Day 194: Lucy had an exam under anasthesia at Wills Eye. We waited for her appointment with Gramby and Grandpa who kept her busy reading books. While we waited for her doctor in her hospital gown, she got to rock in a pint sized chair that matches the one we have at home. After the exam, Lucy always feels terrible and her eyes are swollen shut from the treatments she recieves. Lucy gets extra cuddles while she naps most of the afternoon.

Lucy woke up with her eyes still swollen shut and painful from her treatments. After a little snack, we got a few smiles out of our little angel.

Day 195: Lucy spent the morning with her eyes still swollen shut but by the afternoon they were open and she was all smiles. She's not allowed to get wet from the waist up after her injections, but we fished in a little bucket and played with her water toys in the yard.

Day 196: It was a beautiful day at Red Maple Vineyard. Congratulations Laura & Julio!

Day 197: It didn't rain on Friday for L&J but it poured buckets on Saturday. We got a swing ride in just before teh rain arrived and then we watched through the window as the rain distorted our view of the garden.

See you next week!

xo,

J
