Lucy's absolute favorite thing right now is berries. So we decided to throw her a tiny (just family) diy berry themed birthday party!
I stayed up late making a strawberry garland using twine, red and green construction paper, a silver and black sharpie, and a hole punch.
In the morning, we whipped up three berry themed brunch foods, put the finishing touches on Lu's strawberry shortcake and waited for the guests to arrive!
It was a berry, berry sweet day!
When Lucy woke up, she discovered the living room was covered in red balloons. She was thrilled. She also had a few presents from us to open before the guests arrived, but the balloons were a bigger hit than the presents! lol!

We served brie and jam grilled cheese (we left the blue out), ham and raspberry frittata (the reviews say nay due to the recipe being confusing, we say yay! It was pretty easy) and a berry croissant bake that our guests couldn't get enough of! All three dishes were gobbled up but the croissant bake was definitely the favorite!

We added some fun berry themed drinks to the table and were set to host a party! I love paper straws, and I love the look of Izze. So those are two things that I always put on the table to make it cute and festive without having to DIY TOO many details!

We froze berries into ice cubes to serve with the lemonade, izze, and ice water and they were so good! We had a tray left over and it was the perfect thing to throw into a sippy cup of water for Lucy to sip all day. It gave her water a hint of berry flavor without giving her juice! Which has since turned into us buying frozen fruit and putting a few in her water glass to spice things up every now and then. She especially loves frozen blueberry water.

All in all, the party was a hit and the hardest part was figuring out how to make so many strawberries out of construction paper before I went to bed!
