Saint Patrick's Day is coming, so I decided to whip up a new batch of playdough in honor of the occasion! Using my favorite homemade playdough recipe I whipped up three different colors of green to make our activity even more fun.
I have tried many, many, dough recipes but my favorite by far is this:
2 Cups of Flour
2 Tbsp of Oil (I use vegetable)
1/2 Cup of Salt
2 Tbsp Cream of Tartar
1 1/2 Cup Boiling Water
Mix the ingredients while the water boils. Then, mix the dry ingredients with the boiling water (careful! it's hot!). It may seem a bit crumbly, just keep kneading it, it will come together, I promise. If you want it to be slightly softer, just add more water, a tablespoon at a time (but I don't think you will need too!). Next, add food coloring to the dough. Gel works best but liquid works too (wear gloves if you don't want green hands!). I use a toothpick to put the dye into the dough. In order to create the three varying shades, I used 1 dip of color, 3 dips of color and 7 dips of color.
