I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter. It feels weird saying that, in the midst of a global pandemic but I truly wish you had a beautiful weekend full of whatever makes you happy.
We spent our weekend laying low and trying to make Lucy's third Easter her best yet despite the circumstances. Three is such a good age and childhood is so fleeting, we don't want to waste a second of it. So, despite our grown up worries and inability to venture out to the store, we scraped together an Easter that made her squeal, "the Easter Bunny did a GOOD job!!" and that made our hearts happy.
I have a tendency to buy things that we "might" need to qualify for free shipping and to see something and tuck it away so thankfully, we had things for the Easter Bunny to bring. There was no chocolate in her basket, but definitely a few toys that will be used daily which is the way I like it anyway. (yes, I'm THAT mom, lol).
I love that the first thing she reached for was the Duplo box and as I helped her open it she exclaimed, "let's BUILD SOMETHING!"
After she played with her toys for a few hours, it was time for an egg hunt!
After the egg hunt it was time for lunch. After lunch, we took a walk to church. We might not be able to worship together but we can take a walk around the property.
Lu found a bush and kept herself thoroughly entertained by hiding in it. I love toddlers.
After we were finished playing peek a boo, we went up to what she likes to call "the church meadow" and she ran and ran and ran and then we blew some bubbles.
After all that running, we took a break on her favorite rock before heading home.
And the best part of all? Hugs from dada are NOT off limits during social distancing!
Sending light and love to you and yours!
xoxo,
J
