Shapes and Loose Parts "puzzle"

“there is beauty in simplicity”

I saw this activity pop up in my facebook feed from an ECE center I follow and decided to try it this morning! Lucy woke up extra early, and when that happens, instead of turning on the tv, we try to find an immersive, open ended activity she can enjoy while we sip some coffee. :) This one was better than I could have imagined! She kept saying "this is a fun activity" and squealing as she filled in the shapes. Then she asked for a hexagon and an octogon when she finished the four we started with. Win, win, win. She even dumped all of the materials off the paper and did it AGAIN. I have a feeling we are going to be experimenting with this activity over and over and over again.

We hope you have fun making your own "puzzle"! We colored "gems", what's your favorite material? Let us know in the comments or tag us on IG so we can see and try it too! Enjoy!
