Lucy has been OBSESSED with street signs for a few months. We go on daily walks to read the local signs and we even took pictures and printed them out for her. She loves looking through them, reading, them and hiding them. So I KNEW this activity was going to go over well. And guess what? It did!
You don't need much to make a fun activity that your child can play with in a multitude of ways. I laid down painters tape in a few different patterns and my husband couldn't help but add chalk lines to each one. :) Then, we laid out the signs and placed a car at the beginning of each road. Fun followed when Lucy woke up the next morning.
You can make this activity more involved by building more roads, trying out two lane roads, adding houses, shops, people or a whole town. The sky is the limit, but even this simple setup was so popular she begged us to leave it out for over a week!
Let us know if you try it and be sure to tag us instagram so we can see what kind of DIY roads or towns you can imagine!
