Super simple activities have been a favorite lately. She gets so excited to wake up and see what is on the coffee table. Our wake up activities are never that involved or take long to set up. It's just something super simple so that Mama and Dada can sip coffee as we interact with Lucy over a fun activity.
Lucy has been loving the tiny erasers we used for the dice game last week. If you follow along on IG, I posted that she turned them into a balancing/building game yesterday and it was really fun! Last night, I thought we could try something new with them so I set up a super simple color matching/pattern making activity.
I chose four colors and laid out erasers that corresponded to each color. Then used a roll of paper to cover the coffee table, drew imperfect dots in very imperfect lines and left it waiting for her. (Activities don't have to look or BE perfect for kids to love them.)
Just as suspected, she had fun matching the erasers to the colored dots!
And after the color matching/pattern making was through, Lucy kept playing with it in a different way. We'll leave the dotted paper out all day and she'll inevitably use it for a few different games. This morning, she dressed it up with stickers!
