Have you ever tried bringing beach toys out in the snow?
The last snow we had stuck around for quite awhile. We reached a point where we had built two snowmen, sledded for hours, had many snow ball fights, painted with spray bottles a few times and taken more "adventure walks" than I can count. Lucy wasn't quite ready to be done with the snow but was getting stuck when we went outside and couldn't quite settle down into an activity.
Enter sand toys. We kept the spray bottles out and added one of her favorite sand toys: an ice cream set (made up of two different sets). The ice cream set is always a hit with kinetic sand and it was no different with snow. She played ice cream shop, she built a wall, and she made snow cones just to smash them. She was completely engrossed and played for hours. We'll definitely be playing with our sand toys in the snow again. Next time, I'll bring out the sand molds and see if that peaks her interest.
