The Best Winter Books for Kids

“Winter is not a season, it's a celebration”

As I chopped cucumbers in the kitchen, I could hear the sound of her voice drifting down the hallway. She reads out loud whenever she has a spare moment to herself. By the time I finished making lunch, she was involved in an elaborate tale. She started out reading Katy and the Big Snow verbatim but by the middle of salad chopping, she starting making up her own stories. It made me smile, and as I put the salad away, I said, "Lunch is ready when you are," knowing full well it would be at least 10 minutes, probably more like 30, before she joined me at the table. Lunch can always wait for childhood musings.

Lucy reads whenever she gets the chance. Our library boxes are overflowing with over 40 checked out books and our own bookshelf is out of room. In honor of Katy, our favorite checked out library book, we thought we would share a few of our winter favorites on the blog! Enjoy!
