Gem Hunt Activity

What little person doesn't love gems? Add in some colorful rice and natural coconut bowls and this is an activity that will keep them busy for a loooong time.

This activity took a few minutes to set up but was an absolute favorite this week. I mixed up a bunch of colored rice we've had for quite a long time to make a blue/rainbow mix, dumped two different containers of gems in the rice, stirred, wrote a play prompt and then I went to bed. And when I woke up? Lucy was five inches from my nose asking if it was ok to play with the gem hunt.

It was such a favorite, that when I cleaned it up after a few days, she was disapointed and made me promise to put it out again soon! Friends, we have a definite winner!
