It was a quiet week. We are somehow back to the illusion of normal and Lucy is back to her routine. In fact, she has more of a scheduel than ever. She's consistently taking two naps a day and has even started pointing at her crib when she's done nursing and ready to go to sleep. It warms my heart that she goes to sleep happy AND wakes up happy.
Day 21: Soon, she'll be running ahead, collecting pine cones, pretty leaves and wild flowers, but for now, I get to hold her close and whisper in her ear to feel the wind, listen to the rushing water and look up at the tall, tall pines surrounding the path.

Day 22: Lucy is starting to share and interact even more during play. She is starting to hand things to us as she plays, usually demanding them back quickly after.

Day 23: All the heart eyes for crazy bath hair.

Day 24: We chose not to find out if Lucy was a boy or a girl. The whole time I was pregnant, I insisted I didn't want ALL pink or ALL blue no matter what. Almost one year later, this is what Lucy's laundry looks like. :)

Day 25: The love worn pages and tattered edges of prayer books well read by my great grandmother Julia and my grandmother Jeanne. My aunts, uncles and cousins sent a care package and when I unwrapped the box, the flood gates opened. Family heirlooms to provide hope and healing on even the hardest days.

Day 26: I cleaned up Lucy's room and rearranged "Team Lucy," she loves it.

Day 27: We took a walk and Lucy took a nap in the clean, fresh air.

See you next week!

Julia
