Yesterday I whipped up a batch of my favorite homemade playdough, seperated into three different balls, and colored it in varying shades of green. I was so excited to set up a "pot of gold" playdough activity for Lucy and when she saw it, she was just as excited as me!
She started by stacking and working the playdough.
After she stacked, she started mixing in the gold glitter and gold sequin "coins"
After all three colors were filled with glitter and sequins, the fun really got started. Fun fact: sequins don't stick in playdough so once they are worked in, they are easy to pull out (and in some cases, fall right out when you knead it). So we started a "gold coin" search through the playdough.
She had so much fun finding the gold coins and filling the mini pot o' gold with them.
After most of the coins had been found, the fun continued. She pounded the playdough using our favorite tools.
And finished up by making star cookies and decorating them with gold coins and left over glitter.
I hope you try our gold coin search, it's so much fun and we'll be doing it again soon! If you do, make sure to come on back and let us know how it went! We'd love to hear from you!
